Day Eighteen.

A sturdy aged wooden bridge in a forest, the bridge is mossy and there are autumn leaves on the ground.

Tune your senses to Bids for Connection from your partner.

A bid is any attempt by your partner to initiate connection. It is an action that creates a bridge between you. It could be as simple as a smile, a touch, or making eye contact. Perhaps your partner makes a noise to invite conversation (a laugh, sigh, groan etc). A bid could be a question or comment. It could be a request for help or contribution. It could be a text or email. Maybe your partner starts sharing a story or details about their day. In response to a bid we have 3 choices; turn towards them (become present & interact), turn away (ignore them or don't notice), or turn against (use the bid to engage negatively).

It can be easy to pretend not to notice (so you can finish your chapter)... but it is the cumulative effect of the choices we make to engage/disengage that will ultimately make or break your relationship. I'm curious, which do you choose?

Remember: Take your time to work through this program. It's what you do today that matters.

The cumulative effect of small actions over time creates true intimacy & connection.
