This isn’t just any date night, create an experience by planning a movie night extravaganza!
Select a movie (or a series) that you know your partner will love, it could be a favourite of theirs, or one they have expressed a desire to see. (If you don’t know, FFS ask!)
WHERE TO GO FOR MOVIE NIGHT
It’s a classic date where you can recreate those cliché movie moments… accidentally touching hands in the popcorn… sneaking a kiss when the lights go down… you know, the shit I’ve only ever seen on the big screen (does it happen for reals?)
Of course you can totally go to the local cinema and check out what’s screening….Or you could be a bit creative and head to the Hunter Valley and Newcastle’s only drive-in movies, or pack a picnic and head to a screening of Cinema Under the Stars.
For those who are looking for a date night that is low key, or low cost, set yourselves up at home in the comfort of your own living room.
WHY IT’S A GREAT DATE
Movie night is a great date night because you can tailor it to any taste. By selecting the right genre you can create a great mood between you; You could boost your adrenaline and snug up for a horror fest, a thriller, or action flick. Turn up the romance with a rom com, Have a laugh with a great comedy.
It’s a classic date because it is super flexible, affordable, and easy to execute.
Prepare a mystery box for the night – choose a gift box that reflects your partner, perhaps they are practical and would love a basket they can reuse, or maybe an ecowarrior would love to see you recycle a vegie box from the local grocer. Perhaps a classy shiny box from the Newsagent or gift store.
Pack it with popcorn, M&Ms, DVDs, and other tasty delicacies you know they love. Add beer, wine or champagne and a blanket to snuggle under. Enjoy.
